PURPOSE   The purpose of the Residential Sales Associate (RSA) position is to present and sell Interior and Exterior paint projects to customers in a manner consistent with CertaPro Painters policies, procedures, quality, standards, and customer needs. RSAs work from leads that are provided and scheduled. Primary activity includes running estimate appointments to identify customer needs and present our services to each customer in a determined territory. Upon earning each job, RSAs hand customer and project details off to Project Management team for completion.

  • Complete painting estimate appointments to make in-home presentations to potential and existing customers in assigned territory.         
  • Record accurate measurements and write detailed descriptions of projects inspected          
  • Recommend painting services and products tailored to each customer's needs       
  • Promote the value and process of CertaPro effectively, and sell based on customer profiles as well as full consideration of all options available.
  • Present communication expectations, services to be performed, pricing, scheduling, color options, customer requirements, and offers in a clear, concise, accurate, and professional manner.   
  • Promote a positive company image at all times and provide excellent customer service.        
  • Meet productivity standards set by the department.        
  • Provide quality customer relations and meet all other performance standards.        
  • Manage activity using Lotus Notes CRM        
  • Follow up on all estimate, inquiries, complaints, and other messages in a timely manner.        
  • Keep appointments with customers         
  • Attend team meetings and training sessions as required.        
  • Must pass applicable background check.    
  • Perform other duties as assigned.  



  • Two or more years of proven commissioned sales experience; or 4 years of college; or equivalent combination of sales exp. and college education
  • Proven record of ability to hit and exceed goals        
  • Familiar with basic functions of CRM      
  • Experience in the construction industry is a plus    
  • Must be capable of working in all weather conditions and have flexible work hours, including evenings and weekends.

  • Ensures administrative duties are complete in a timely manner, including maintaining all data (lead profiles, job profiles, proposals, etc.) in the database and preparing reports/documentation as required
  • Helps with production, including ensuring written proposals are accurate and clearly define all expectations of the customer, ensuring all landed jobs are handed off to the correct person, communicating customer scheduling preferences and needs, managing customer expectations and ensuring they understand the entire process after the job is landed, maintaining communication with customers after a job is completed to ensure satisfaction and to generate referrals

  • Performs sales duties, including meeting with customers, scheduling designer consultations and/or follow up meetings, ensuring proposals are signed and completing all required paperwork/data entry

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Advanced education degree, coursework, or tech school a plus
  • Previous service business experience desired
  • Sales experience a plus
  • Strong computer and internet skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong verbal/written skills, to include proof-reading and basic math skills
